Rashford's future isn't solely in United's hands, however. The Villans have the option to buy the player for £40 million ($52m) but it remains to be seen if they want to make the deal permanent. If they decline the deal, Rashford will return to United in June, with his future up in the air.

Amorim has refused to be drawn into speculating on the 27-year-old's future. The Portuguese has chosen to talk only about the players in his current squad, giving little indication of how or when their spat may be resolved.
WHAT NEXT FOR MARCUS RASHFORD AND RUBEN AMORIM?
Rashford travels to Southampton with his Aston Villa teammates later today, before turning their focus to the second leg of their Champions League quarter final tie against PSG. Villa will be looking to overturn a two goal deficit.
Amorim has a tricky away trip to Newcastle. United then host Lyon in the second leg of their Europa League quarter final.
