Trippier featured in the Three Lions' starting lineup during their clash against Malta on Friday and played the entire 90 minutes. An own goal by Enrico Pepe and a strike from Harry Kane guaranteed England a comfortable 2-0 win.

Gareth Southgate's side have remained unbeaten in the Euro 2024 qualifying stage having won six out of their seven games. They have already confirmed their place in the competition that will be held in Germany next year.

Newcastle released an official statement on X on Trippier's return which read: "Newcastle United can confirm that @trippier2 has returned home from the @England squad due to a personal matter. Tripps played 90 minutes as the Three Lions defeated Malta 2-0 in a @EURO2024 qualifier at Wembley on Friday but will miss Monday’s trip to North Macedonia."
WHAT NEXT FOR KIERAN TRIPPIER?
The veteran defender was set to feature in Newcastle United's next Premier League clash against in-form Chelsea on November 25. The Magpies, who are struggling at the seventh position on the league table, will aim to get all three points at home, though whether Trippier will be involved remains to be seen.
