France boss Didier Deschamps has singled out Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby for some special praise after he starred in France’s 1-0 victory over Finland on Friday night, talkSPORT report.
Diaby was awarded the man of the match award for the second time in a week as he scored the only goal in his countries narrow opening World Cup Qualifier in Helsinki.
“He is a boy with a lot of qualities, but I knew that. He is a complete midfielder,” Deschamps told French reporters.
The 26-year-old has been terribly unlucky with injuries over the past two years but he seemed back to his best in Arsenal’s Premier League victory away at Liverpool last weekend and it seems he has taken that form to the international stage.
Diaby will have plenty more opportunities in the first team at the Emirates Stadium this season after the departure of Alex Song and persistent injury problems surrounding Jack Wilshere.
