The Red Dragons have enjoyed a meteoric rise since a ball was first kicked in anger at the start of that season. They were a National League side back then, but rewrote the history books when savouring title glory with 111 points.

Wrexham bounced straight through League Two – finishing as runners-up in that division – and now sit at the top of the third tier table after picking up four wins and a draw from their opening five games in 2024-25. Nobody can claim to have been as successful as the Welsh outfit over the last two-and-a-bit seasons.
WHAT MCELHENNEY SAID
McElhenney is delighted to see that the investment of faith and funds from himself and fellow co-owner Ryan Reynolds is being rewarded, and credits Phil Parkinson with making all of that possible. He has posted on social media, alongside a remarkable statistic that features an image of Wrexham’s manager: “And it’s all because of this man. In Phil we trust.”
WHAT NEXT?
Reynolds and McElhenney worked hard to acquire Parkinson shortly after their arrival at SToK Racecourse in 2021. He has overseen a stunning climb up the EFL ladder, with the plan being to smash more records by achieving back-to-back-to-back promotions.
