La Liga giants Madrid are expected to sign the right-back on a free transfer at the expiry of his Liverpool deal this summer but want to sign him in time for the tournament in the United States. The Reds have made their expectations clear if that is to happen.

reports that Liverpool have told Madrid they are happy to let him go so long as relations between the player and club remain good, with the player needing to make clear his intentions. They would also want a small compensation figure of around £900,000 to cover the final month of his salary.
