Peru winger Andre Carrillo shone for his nation despite their 1-0 defeat against Denmark in their first World Cup fixture since 1982 on Saturday, and Leeds fans have urged new boss Marcelo Bielsa to sign the 27-year-old attacker.
The Benfica man, who earns €2m (around £35,000-a-week) after tax with the Portuguese club according to a report by A Bola, via Sport Witness, last summer, used his pace and trickery down the right-hand side throughout, and would have surely caught the attention of a number of clubs with his performance.
The wideman, who can also feature as a wing-back, actually spent the 2017/18 campaign on a season-long loan deal with Watford, but he struggled to impress – especially after Marco Silva was sacked – scoring two goals and providing a further two assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.

Leeds supporters, the large majority of whom want their club to sign an £8.1m-rated Aston Villa star this summer, were quick to have their say on the Peruvian’s performance via social media, and while one said he “would fit the Bielsa system”, another simply said “sign Carrillo”.
