Lots of Liverpool fans have been reacting to Tottenham’s Champions League capitulation against Bayern Munich, and they’re absolutely crucifying former target Dele Alli.
Alli was oh-so-close to signing for Liverpool before his move to north London, with manager at the time Brendan Rodgers later admitting: “We thought we had him at Liverpool.”
And his decision to join the Lilywhites looked to be the right one in his first couple of campaigns, racking up 37 goals and 26 assists in his first three seasons in the top-flight.
His form has only gone one direction since then however, mustering just five goals and three assists in the league last year, and his performance in the 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday was truly horrific.
The 23 year-old looked like he couldn’t care less as the Bundesliga outfit romped past his side throughout the second half, completing just 62.5% of his overall passes and failing to make a single tackle or interception, per WhoScored.
Liverpool and Tottenham have forged a relatively new rivalry since that controversial 2-2 clash at Anfield, and some of the Twitter reactions down below are loving Alli’s decline…
