Southgate sent warning to RashfordWill face competition from Palmer and GordonNeeds to improve off-field behaviourWHAT HAPPENED?
The England boss issued a warning towards the Manchester United star related to his off-the-field behaviours while claiming that young attacking players like Chelsea's Cole Palmer and Newcastle's Anthony Gordon will give the experienced attacker a run for his money during selection of the final England squad ahead of Euro 2024.

Rashford, who has had an underwhelming campaign with United in the current season, has often come under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Last year in October, the striker was spotted partying just hours after his club got hammered by rivals Manchester City. In January again, the player was seen at a nightclub in Belfast in the early hours of the morning.
WHAT GARETH SOUTHGATE SAID
Speaking to reporters, the Three Lions manager said, "Marcus has a battle on his hands with Gordon, with Palmer with [Phil] Foden… so we’ve got big competition for places in that area of the field. What happens while players are with their clubs is club matters because they know the full story. They know exactly what’s going on.
"Obviously, we observe everything, we don’t miss anything. I don’t say behaviours off the field are irrelevant because clearly they’re not. But the key thing is we are mainly focusing on the performances on the field. He’s got big competition. So has Jack [Grealish]."
