Former Manchester United midfielder Lou Macari believes there is still more to come from Sir Alex Ferguson’s side this season.
The 19-time champions beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to go to within a point of the London club at the top of the Premier League.
And Macari feels that United’s strong fire-power up front could fire them to a 20th top flight title come the end of the campaign.
He told Sky Sports: “It has been a strange start to the season where they have gone behind in eight of the 13 games that they have played. For some unknown reason, even the manager, can’t put his finger on it.
“But in fairness to them, to come back and win most of those games is a bit of an achievement. The one thing they have got, without a doubt, is incredible fire power up front.
“Whether it be Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie, Herdnandez or Danny Welbeck. They’ve got four strikers the manager can call upon to go and win them a game.”
Macari also believes that the title is destined to stay in Manchester, whether it be at United or current champions City, and that Chelsea may not have enough to bring the trophy back to London.
“I think the title will end up in Manchester. Chelsea have surprised me this season. They’ve done fantastic and got themselves to the top of the league,” he added.
“The manager has done a fantastic job there so they’re not to be dismissed, but I just think Manchester United and Manchester City have a little bit more going for them than Chelsea.”
